The program, which brings together exhibitions by national and international artists, offers itineraries for exploring the galleries located in the neighborhoods of San Miguel Chapultepec, Condesa, Juárez, Roma, Centro, and Polanco. With more than 10,000 square meters of exhibition space open to the public, free of charge, GAMA reaffirms the role of galleries as essential spaces for the production, circulation, and exchange of contemporary art, while also helping establish Mexico City as one of the leading destinations for contemporary art in Latin America.

This year’s program brings together projects that reflect the diversity of practices and perspectives in contemporary art. Notable exhibitions include those presented by galleries such as kurimanzutto, Proyectos Monclova Gallery, Proyecto Paralelo, Arróniz, N.A.S.A.L., OMR, Mariane Ibrahim, Galería Karen Huber, Galería Enrique Guerrero, GAGA, Travesía Cuatro, Galería Hilario Galguera, Patricia Conde Galería, Le Laboratoire, and Terreno Baldío, among others. This edition invites the public to rediscover the richness of Mexico City’s art scene by encouraging visits to galleries as meeting places for art industry professionals and the community, and above all, to understand galleries as spaces for research, dialogue, and exhibition.

In addition, Frieze is joining as a sponsor this year—not this alone, but certainly this is an indicator of the international significance of Mexico’s art scene. On this topic, Kerstin Erdmann, director and partner at the OMR gallery, tells us: “The collaboration with Frieze is something we’re very excited about for this edition, as it strengthens [GAMA Week’s] international standing.
