JOVEM reopens its doors to the public with the opening of the exhibition HIPER.SINCRON.IA
After a year-long pause, Museo JOVEM opens its second exhibition, 4-4-3 HIPER.SINCRON.IA, this Friday, September 25, curated by Jorge A. Vargas Bravo with co-curation by Hiram Constantino, as part of Guadalajara's art week.
This exhibition, explains Ana Karina Vázquez, operations director of the Fundación Jorge Vergara and of JOVEM, stems from the museum's interest in bringing together art, technology, and soccer as catalysts for cathartic collective experiences. The aim is that through these three elements, visitors can engage in a dialogue around the hyper-connectivity brought about by technology, which, paradoxically, seems to isolate us from one another even as we lose touch with our human essence. From JOVEM's perspective, collective experiences are more than the sum of their parts. The exhibition draws specifically on soccer as an example of events made possible only through the shared experience of many people: a goal, a play, or a moment capable of triggering simultaneous responses in a stadium, a home, or a city. Although each person experiences the event from their own vantage point, their movements, decisions, and reactions are interconnected with those of others.
